Eradicating
Poverty
Poverty has existed in human society for thousands of years, and has
typically been embedded in authoritative legal, economic, and social
obstructions. Poverty is perceived to be preordained, part and parcel of
the social order, punishment for sins, due to a lack of will or competence
among the poor, or the result of exploitation and the inability to extricate
oneself from poverty imposed by the upper echelons in society. In today’s
world, poverty is acknowledged as the lack of income or resources; the
lack of basic services such as medical care, safety and security, and
education are also included in the classification of poverty.
