                      Understanding child development and the continuum of individual differences
                       between many different five year olds, for instance
                      An interest in gaining an understanding of the child beyond the legal questions
                       driven by systems and parents
                      Use the language of the child vs. paraphrasing into your adult language
                      Bring the authentic concerns forward into the Child and Youth Concerns Scale.
                       Create meaning that is important to the child and provide the information to the
                       parents
                      Protect children from over-exposure and from being dismissed as  not  having
                       something important to say about their lives
