II. ADEQUATE AND RELEVANT PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES
A. Management of Instruction
The University prides itself with the established of good practices when it comes
to management. As the College is a part of the university, the following were the
practices to ensure management of instruction.
A.1 Curriculum Development and Revision Process Involved and
Undertaken
The revision is based on related CHED memos, recommendations by the
AACCUP evaluators, needs of the stakeholders. The proposed revised curriculum
is presented during the Academic Council Meeting forwarded to CHED-CAR for
notation, then to the IFSU BOR for approval. The University President issues a
memo for its implementation.
A.2 Updating Syllabi and Instructional Materials
To improve the teaching-learning process, there is a need to continually revise,
update and enrich course syllabi and instructional materials like lecture guides,
laboratory manuals and the likes. These should be supported by the
procurement of books, journals, laboratory equipment and supplies. Faculty
members should also undergo training in the preparation of instructional
materials and course syllabi. They are also expected to utilize online sources
and keep abreast with technological advances especially in the use of computer
aided-instruction.
Faculty members are required by the department chairperson to submit updated
course syllabi at the beginning of the semester. Instructors teaching the same
subject may submit one common syllabus. Its contents are discussed to the
students or a copy of the syllabus is given to them at the start of the semester.
A university instructional materials committee was created to oversee the
production of instructional materials. Guidelines and policies were prepared in
the preparation of IM as well as its publication of the Instructional materials.
A.3 Continuing Faculty and Staff Development Program
The Ifugao State University establishes, maintains and promulgates a systematic
plan of action for personnel development in a continuing effort to upgrade the
competence of faculty members, administrative and support staff through a
system of scholarship grants. The university has created a Faculty and Staff
Development Program (FSDP) to look into the professional growth of its faculty
and staff. The program covers scholarships, fellowships and other forms of
grants offered by sponsors other than the university, whether local or foreign.
