The Ifugao State University maintains and promulgates a systematic plan of
action for personnel development thru its Faculty and Staff Development
Program (FSDP). The university provides funds/funding assistance for masteral
studies, doctoral studies and thesis through the FSDP and the same as to
attendance to seminars, trainings, workshops, congress and fora.
To attain this, the College has continued to recommend faculty members for
scholarship grants to CHED and to the FSDP of the University for Advance
Studies in their lines of specialization. Out of the Ten (10) Information
Technology instructors of the college, all of them were recipients of CHED
scholarship program previously and currently. One (1) of them graduated, Six
(6) of them were about to start this School Year 2021-2022) and One (1) is on-
going and expected to graduate this year. This is regardless of their status of
either permanent employee or Contract of Service.
Attendance to seminars, trainings, workshops, congress, fora in either
local/regional/ national/international as well as certifications have also been a
part of the program to keep them updated or certified on their respective field of
specialization. The latest plan covers the period SY 2018-2021 and reviewed
every year.
A.4 Monitoring and Evaluation of Faculty
A performance evaluation system has been developed and implemented. The
Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) target is prepared by
each faculty at the beginning of the year. After 2 quarters (from January to June),
each faculty will submit his rated accomplishment report. Teachers are also
evaluated by the students every semester. 70% will come from the IPCR and 30%
will come from the students’ evaluation.
The evaluation instrument for teaching is based from NBC 461 Qualitative
Criteria Evaluation and ratings obtained by the faculty are also used for the QCE
portion of NBC 461.
A faculty member is evaluated by his supervisor, peers and students as
stipulated in the NBC 461 in terms of the Teacher’s commitment (25%),
knowledge of subject matter (25%), teaching for independent learning (25%) and
management of learning (25%). An award to the outstanding teacher is provided
for in the University Code.
