DESCRIBE THE INSTITUTION’S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES,
COLLECTIONS DEVELOPMENT, ORGANIZATION AND PRESERVATION
OF THE LIBRARY MATERIALS AND RESOURCES
This collection development policy is the guidelines used by the JHCSC
Library in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and maintenance of library
materials. It will be used both in providing consistency among those
responsible for developing the collection and in communicating the library's
policies to faculty, students, staff, and other interested persons. It is
understood that as the programs and other information needs of the college
change, so too the collection development policy will change to meet such
needs. To meet the changing requirements of the curricula, instructional
methods, and information technology, the policy will be subject to continuing
review and revision accordingly.
As for JHCSC Library, the goal of the Library is to deliver quality
education for service thru providing services and access for all of its patrons.
To achieve this goal, the library aims to build our digital resources to support
the research needs of our community. The library started to collect all online
government agency publications thru checking their websites and posting it to
our library Facebook page so that students will know how to access their online
resources or publications. The library also recently subscribed online
databases like Gale Reference Complete, Philippine e-journal and Proquest
Research Library. The library also procured several titles of electronic
resources from TriTech Media and Rex Book store.
