                   9.  The approved purchased request will be submitted to Bids and Award

                       Committee  for  proper  procurement  process  subject  to  RA  9184
                       otherwise known as Government Procurement Law.
                   10.        A follow up must be made to the procurement unit regarding the
                       status of the request.
                   11.        Upon receiving the books, the Technical Librarian will check the
                       books against accompanying the invoice. If the book is in place, it will
                       be mark checked. Any missing items are claimed immediately to the
                       supplier.
                   12.        The  books  received  will  be  collated  and  if  found  damaged,  the
                       technical librarian will inform the supplier for proper action.

                       C. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION


                         In meeting the goals of the library, materials selected for inclusion in
               the collection of the JHCSC Library shall satisfy the following:

                       1.  Materials shall be chosen to enrich and support the curriculum and
                          the educational, emotional, recreational needs of the users.
                       2.  Material shall meet the following quality standards:

                              a. Physical format
                              b. Treatment of subject

                              c. Accuracy and regency of information
                              d. Arrangement and organization of topics
                              e. Literacy style
                       3. Materials shall be appropriate to the subject area for the different
               programs and shall meet the accreditation needs of the college, and programs.

                       4. Materials shall represent different viewpoint on controversial issues
               that users may be motivated to engage in critical analysis of such issues, to
               explore their own beliefs, attitude, and behavior, and to intelligent judgment

               on issues that different their lives.

                       D. SCOPE AND COVERAGE OF THE COLLECTION

                       The scope of the collection refers to the range of subjects collected by
               the J.H. Cerilles State College Library while the coverage refers to the depth,

               or  intensity  of  collection  efforts  within  a  subject  field.  The  following  levels
               indicate the degree of coverage within the subject by the library:

                       Level 1-Comprehensive

                       a.  An  extensive  collection  of  journals,  audiovisual  materials  and
                          computer files;
