You taught me how to be more patient, and that it's ok to sometimes make

decisions with my heart. Most importantly, you showed me how much I can
love other people's children, as if they were my own, and do it sincerely.

All those lessons, those moments of pride, fear, confusion and joy that you
exposed me to, I use all the time, to love, treasure, and teach my daughter.

So thank you for preparing me, in many ways, for motherhood! Liliana, my
baby girl, is almost a year old and when I look at her and wonder where the

time has gone, I imagine that your parents and caregivers, as well as your

teachers, will look at you when you leave those green gates for the last
time, and wonder where the years went. I certainly do.

Your Matric year is not what you expected and I'm sure that you feel
cheated in many ways. But 2020 has been full of 'learning moments'. Take

whatever you can from it and use it to ground you, push you and remind
you that you are resilient, capable and powerful! Don't be afraid to take

that gap year, study

that course, go to that audition, write that book, take that job or open that
business because it's your journey, and it will have plenty of 'learning

moments' that will enrich your existence.

I wish you all the most wonderfully fulfilling lives beyond Greenside's gates.
