♥ A subsequent comprehensive MSN curriculum revision refocused the program on family nurse practitioner education in the
late 90s.
♥ In July 2006, a redesign of the School of Nursing to the School of Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science to include the
Department of Health and Exercise Science and the Department of Nursing, occurred. Additionally, a $5 million gift
annuity endowment was received naming the Carol Kuser Loser Deanship.
♥ A TCNJ-wide curriculum transformation that emphasized experiential learning and interdisciplinary study was
implemented with incoming first year students fall 2004. Examples of transformation in the BSN nursing courses
included new pedagogies such as simulation, more experiential learning opportunities such as service learning, and
course redesign to designate writing intensive courses.
♥ In 2012-2013, in light of the recommendations contained in the 2008 Consensus Model for APRN Regulation and the
subsequently published Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Competencies (AACN, 2010), the faculty
reviewed the currently existing Adult NP track curriculum and determined that with relatively minor curricular changes, the
curriculum met the requirements for the Adult/Gerontology Primary Care NP specialty.
