19    The topic: “Food on Europe’s Tables”

           Meetings












                  ur multilateral project on „Food on Europe‘s table“ took place from
           O September 2017 to July 2019. The project work began in Germany
           with the meeting of the coordinating teachers, who specified the programme
           which had been elaborated online beforehand. The five participating schools
           agreed on five meetings for the students and teachers, and one final teachers
           meeting in order to evaluate the results and to write the final report together.


           In order to do justice to the complexity of the „food“ phenomenon, the topic
           of „Food on Europe‘s table“ was examined from different perspectives. We
           started with the closest area of experience of the students, meals at home, the
           changes in food culture in their own country influenced by social changes and
           migration over the last years. Students from all schools worked on these as-
           pects and took their results to Germany for joint presentation and evaluation.


           At the second meeting in Ireland the pupils prepared the topic of „food“ from
           the cultural point of view. Since language is like the expression of a culture,
