The resins from these two sources are not completely
identical.
American podophyllum resin contains podophyllotoxin
(~20%), β-peltatin (~10%) and α-peltatin (~ 5%).
Indian podophyllum resin contains mainly podophyllotoxin
(~ 40%), with only traces of peltatins.
