Combretastatin A-4 disodium phosphate is a water-soluble
prodrug, shows antivascular (antiangiogenic) effect, causing
rapid collapse andnecrosis of the tumor’s vascular structures.
Also, it is a potent antimitotic agent, causing
reversible tubulin-depolymerizing effect.
It has received drug status from FDA for the treatment of a
range of thyroid cancers and ovarian cancer, in combination
with paclitaxel andcarboplatin
