A lung-cancer-specific antineoplastic agent, isolated from
the sweet potato, Ipomoea batata (Convolvulaceae)
Mechanism of action:
it is converted into DNA-binding metabolites upon
metabolic activation by cytochrome P450 enzymes that
are present in cells of the lung .
