Identification Tests :

1. khellin decolourizes potassium permanganate solution.
2. it produces a distinct rose-red colour with KOH or NaOH

Uses:
1-khellin and visnagin (tablets and injections) are potent
coronary and broncho-vasodilators, used in angina
pectoris and in chronic bronchial asthma .

*khellin induces elevated liver enzyme levels and photosensitivity
