Infectious diarrhea…..
2. Bacteria: (toxins or invasive)
• It has an variable onset of 8 to 24/72 hr (several days).
• S.aureus (1-6 hrs)
• Diarrhea caused by consumption of contaminated food or
water (Ecoli mostly)that occurs in a foreign country is called
”……….'S DIARRHEA"

Bacterial infection…
• Toxigenic bacteria:
• Diarrhea results from the secertory effects of the
enterotoxins released in the small intestine.
• Escherichia coli, vibrio cholerae, and shigella and
staphylococcus aureus.
• Patients usually experience large volume stools that are
watery or greasy.
• Invasive bacteria:
• Diarrhea results from invasion of the colon mucosa .
• invasive E.coli, shigella, salmonella, campylobacter and
clostridium difficile.
• extreme urgency to defecate and small-volume stools that
contain pus or blood-fever mostly
