Uses:
Tilia is used as anodyne for cough and sedative,
antispasmodic and diaphoretic. Tilia is also used in treatment of
catarrh and alleviation of headache.
Red Rose Petals
Rose flower is the dried petals of Rosa gallica Linne and
its varieties, family Rosaceae collected just before the expansion
of the flowers.
The Red rose is grown for medicinal use in England and France.
Macroscopic Characters:
Red occurs either in separate petals or more generally
imbricated, compact, small, conical masses, 10 to 20 mm, long
and 9 to 13 mm, wide.
The petals are obovate-triangular with velvety surface; they are
deep purplish red and paler towards the base into yellowish
colour.
Red Rose has agreeable, aromatic odour and slightly astringent
bitter taste.
Microscopic Characters:
The upper epidermis of the petal is formed of polygonal,
straight-walled, papillosed cells; the lower epidermis constiting
