A- Phytotherapeutics for urinary tract (UT) diseases:
Urinary tract complains
• Acute and recurrent urinary infections.
• Urethristis (inflammation of urethra).
• Urinary stones.
• Bedwetting
Extreme caution is necessary in applying phytotherapy for UT diseases,
in cases of:
• Renal failure
• Urinary obstruction (a blockage that inhibits the flow of urine through
its normal path (the urinary tract)
• Severe glomerulonephritis (inflammation of glomeruli; the kidney
filters)
• Acute pyelonephritis ( is a bacterial infection causing inflammation of
the kidneys and may permanently damage them).
Actions of Herbal medicines in UT complains
• Diuretics: increase water and ions (mainly potassium ion K) excretion
from the body.
• Urinary antiseptics: prevent urinary tract infections in cases of Urinary
infections Urinary stones, and Prostatitis.
• Antilithics: They decrease the possibility of urinary stone formation
