It is the essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the fresh overground parts of Mentha
    piperita L. (Lamiaceae).

    Medicinal Uses

externally, it is used for the relief of muscle pain (myalgia) and headaches.

Oral use of peppermint oil preparations is not recommended for individuals with
inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract or gallbladder, or those with impaired liver
    function.
    Warnings
• Peppermint oil should never be applied to the face, particularly near the nose of infants or
young children, as it may cause respiratory distress.

    prevent gastric irritation.
• It should be avoided by patients suffering from digestive ulcers, acid reflux, or ulcerative
    colitis.
• Individuals with achlorhydria (absence of stomach acid), particularly those taking H₂-
