Concentrates of platelets and white blood corpuscles
Preparsed by cehtrifugation under controlled conditions ,RBCs
sedimented ,highly conc. platlet preparation are prepared by
recentrifugation of the supernatant plasma &suspended in
small volume of plasma.
Uses: 1-To prevent haemorrhage in patients suffering from
thrombocytopenia.
2-To treat patients with leukaemia who are undergoing
immunosuppressive therapy.
Plasma Transfusion Equipment: Plasma pheresis disposible

plastic blood bags or packs have advantages over glass
separate blood components ,e.g.double pack consisting of
two bags to give a unit of red cell concentrate & a unit of rich
plsma.Plasmapheresis in which red blood cell concentrates are
returned to the donor ,who thus has in effect donated plasma
without any significant loss of his red blood cells.This
procedure can be applied to donors whose plasma has high
content of a protein of a particular therapeutic value ,e.g.
coagulation factor VIII,anti -D antibody ,or tetanus antitoxin.
