Uses
1-For the restoration of plasma volume in pts sufferin
from burns ,scalds or crush injury.
2-In emergency to restore blood volume or when
fibrinogen concentrate is not available .dried plasma
Reconstituted to one third or one quarter of the
original volume.Dried residue from 400ml plasma
contains about 1g fibrinogen.
6-Fresh Frozen Plasma
Prepared by centrifugation from whole blood within a
few hrs of its collection from the donor ,storedin the
frozen state (below -30⁰ ).For use ,it is thawed by
immersion in a bath not exceeding 37⁰ for45 min.
Uses
Used as a source of factor VIII for treating minor
haemorrhage in mildly affected haeophiliacs .
7-Dried Human Serum ,BP
Blood collected without the addition of an
anticoagulant from donors ,allowed to
clot,&separated fluid pooled,bottled & freeze dried.
Protein content must not be less than 65g/l,and test
for coagulation with calcium chloride does not apply.
Uses
Its uses are similar to those of dried plasma except
that it cannot be used as a source of fibrinogen.
