c-Iodinated (125 I ) Human Albumin Injection ,BP

Used for determination of blood volume & for
localizing tumours and the placenta. Albumin BP must
be treated for 10h at 60⁰ to inactivate the virus of
serum hepatitis.

Label must state total radioactivity in microcuries or
millicuries, with the date of determination.

10-Plasma substitutes

1-Dextran110 injection ,BP

M.W. 110,000 ,its intrinsic viscosity is adjusted for
different fractions,

Test: urinary excretion in rabbits, PH, for maximum
permitted contents for heavy metals ,acetone,ethanol,
Nitrogen& reducing sugars, also for maximum
sulphated ash ,for foreign protein & pyrogens.

Prepared in dextrose 5g/l or sod, chloride ,sterilized by
autoclaving or filtration ,not used if cloudy or deposit.

Storage:

2In Dextrose below 25 ⁰ for at least 5 years

In sodium chloride injections up to 40⁰ for at least 5
years.

Label: 1-Conc. Of dextrose 2- name of solvent

Uses In emergency restoration of blood volume
