conc. 15% w/v ,solution contain 0.9%w/v sod. Chloride
,0.01% of thiomersal or other bactericide in suitable
conc. .are adjusted to pH 6.8 .In some countries they
may contain 2.25%w/v of glycine to improve stability
on storage.
The therapeutic substances regulation include
specification relating to analysis in the ultracentrifuge
,both on the original solution and after incubation at
37 ⁰for 1month .
It has been shown empirically that human
immunoglobulin
Prepared by cold ethanol or ether technique or by
cold ammonium sulphate precipitation does not
transmit hepatitis .
Labelling
Additional to general requirement (1) the amount of
Immunoglobulin as total protein .(2) the nature and
amount of preservative and (3) not for IV.
Uses
Measles : To prevent or attenuate the disease.
To prevent infection immunoglobin should be given
within 4 days of exposure to infection.
To prevent complications of vaccinations against
measles in infants &children suffering from certain
pulmonary& cardiac conditions a dose of 4-8 IU is
