Labelling
Additional to general requirement ,1-The total amount
of protein (2) the conc. Of sodium, potassium & citrate
ions (3) the nature & conc. Of any protein
stabilizer(4) Should not be used if the solution is turbid
or contains a deposit.
Human albumin fraction (saline) may be distributed in
freeze-dried form.
Uses
Similar to dried plasma except it cannot be used as a
source of fibrinogen.
b-Human Albumin (Purified)
Purified albumin contains less than 5% of
globulins,salt -poor freeze-dried product, in 25g
quantity ,sodium content must not exceed 12mg
sodium per g protein .Protein conc. Below 15 %
.Dextrose injection 5% ,clear solution in 10 min.
Albumin is distributed as a salt poor solution
containing 20 or 25 % protein.
Uses : Protein replacement in pts. With sodium intake
restricted. E.g.in renal failure not responding to
diuretic Therapy.
