What are parenteral preparations?

They are sterile dosage forms that are delivered to the patient without using the alimentary
canal.
Parenteral products are injected into the internal body compartments.

   According to the B.P.: "Parenteral preparations are sterile preparations intended for
   administration by injection or infusion into human or animal bodies"
