Uses of Bioflavonoids:
1-Hesperidin,Diosmin and Rutin have been called “Vit. P” (Permeability
factor), they are used in the treatment of capillary fragility.Used in case
of nose bleeding, hemorrhoids and varicose veins.
2- Rutin used in combination with vit. C to treat influenza (synergistic
effect).
3- Hesperidin is important in blood coagulation and used in the
treatment of thrombopenia.
4- Bioflavonoids are used as antioxidants. In soaps and skin cream.
4- Isoflavone glycosides
Certain iso-flavonoids are physiologically active. As for example,
Genistin
the glycoside Genistin and its genin genistein which shows significant
estrogenic activity, as do several other isoflavones, and this may be
attributed to the close stereo-chemical semblance of these compounds
to diethylstilbosterol; as demonstrated by the following structures.
Genistin Diethylstilbosterol
GluO O

Genistein Genistin
Genistein is effective for menopausal symptoms as osteoporosis
(promote bone density in post menopausal women).
