Broccoli protect humans against cancer since they are rich sources of
glucosinolates as well as possessing a high content of flavonoids,
vitamins and mineral nutrients.
The enzyme myrosinase transforms glucoraphanin into
Sulforaphane
Sulforaphane (SFN), an isothiocyanate derived from
glucoraphanin, has antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects
that may be beneficial for improving liver function.
Sulforaphane was shown to potentiate a range of other
anticancer agents against cervical cancer, bladder tumor, lung
cancer, salivary gland carcinoma, and melanoma.
