Guru Ji was a good warrior and

Guru Hargobind Ji. His birth name

was Tyag Mal. At a young age of 13,

he impressed his father with his
swordsmanship in a battle. Guru Hargobind Ji changed his name to Tegh

Bahadur. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji established the city of Anandpur.

India was a Hindu country long time ago. Mughal Emperors came to India

because there was lot of gold and spices. But they also wanted to convert

               all Hindus into Muslims.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji believed that everyone should have a right to

practice his/her own religion. The emperor did not like that at all. Guru Ji

was arrested and asked to become a Muslim or face death. Guru Ji chose
death. His head was cut off from his body.

Guru Ji gave his life so that others could be free to live in their own
religion. This is the only example of such sacrifice where someone gave his

own life so that others can practice their own religion. No one in the world

               has ever done this.

Guru Ji’s shaheedi scared Augangzeb. He knew that Sikhs were a strong

force and they will make it hard to convert Hindus into Muslims.
