A - Phala Di Tokri Craft
Many fruits (phal) begin with A. The craft for this lesson will introduce the names
of 3 phal.
A. Introduce the children to each fruit on the sheet. Ask them to identify the fruit
in English then ask if they know the Punjabi word for that fruit.
B. The children will color and cut out the individual fruit and glue the provided
labels on the back. These will serve as flash cards for the kids to practice the
names of the fruits they have learned.
C. Children may need help with the origami A tokri or you may prepare them in
advance for your class. Go over each step slowly, repeating if necessary.
D. Attach pipe-cleaners for handles, and arrange the fruits in the tokri. Once the
students have finished, encourage each child to pick a fruit from their basket
and say something about it in Punjabi. AMgUr im~Ty hn, mynU AMb cMgw lgdw hy,
