ULLU AND UUNTH GO ON AN ADVENTURE
We encourage you to tell the story in Punjabi, emphasizing the vocabulary the
            students have learned.

Have the children sit in a circle with their fruits (mango, pineapple, grapes) and
origami basket in front of them. Prep small cups with 4-5 grapes in each cup for
            all the children.

There once was a uunth that lived in the jungle with his friend, the ullu. One day,
the uunth was very hungry, and he couldn’t find anything to eat; he didn’t know
what to do. He thought and thought, and finally, he decided to ask his friend, Ullu,
for help. Ullu was very wise and always knew what to do.

The uunth looked around for his friend, the ullu, here and there. He couldn’t find
him anywhere! Then he remembered that the ullu liked to sleep during the
daytime and hunt for his food at night.

The uunth went to the ullu's favorite sleeping tree and found him taking a nap. He
gently woke his friend up and said, “Ullu, please help me! I’m very hungry, and
there is nothing to eat here. Do you know where I can find something to eat?”

Ullu said, “Hmm, I know just the place!” The ullu sat on the uunth’s back, and off
they went on their adventure. They walked through the jungle, walking for a long
time, and finally, the uunth said, “Ullu, are we there yet?” The ullu said, “Almost.”
They came to a clearing and saw a ananaas orchard. The ullu became very
excited and said, “Uunth, this is one of the most delicious fruits in the whole wide
            world; you will love it!”

They both picked up an ananaas and bit into it. It was a little hard to eat, prickly

and spiky. The uunth said to the ullu, “Ullu, I do like the taste, but I think we need
to peel it first; this is very hard to eat.” Ullu replied, “Yes, I think you’re right. Let’s
pick some and take them back home with us. We will continue our journey; I
know of another thing we can try.”
Have the children place the pineapple in the basket.

They continued walking further into the jungle and finally came upon another

orchard. This one had tall trees with beautiful orange and yellow fruits hanging
from the branches. Ullu became very excited. He said, “Oh Uunth, you must try
this fruit! It is like no other, so delicious! I am sure you have never had anything
            so yummy in your life!”
