CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMME

Central Reserve Police Force, the premier internal security agency has been entrusted with the task of anti
naxal operations in the State of Chhattisgarh since 2003. To provide momentum to the operations, an Ops
Sector was created in the year 2010 which was upgraded as an independent Sector in 2012. At present, 31
GD BNs, 1 Basatariya Bn. and 6 CoBRA BNs are deployed in the State where the troops are working to bring
peace and normalcy in the region.

In addition to the core Anti Naxal Operations, the CRPF personnel are actively involved in social upliftment
activities such as Civic Action Programmes (CAP), Literacy Campaigns, Tree Plantation drives, Medical
Camps in interior areas etc. Thus, CRPF jawans have projected the positive face of this great force.

CRPF’s civic action programs in Chhattisgarh include distributing essential items like medicines, blankets,
and school supplies, providing infrastructure like hand pumps and streetlights,cycles, books school bags,drums
etc and offering skill development and training for local youth. These initiatives, such as the Telemedicine
project in Bastar, aim to improve the living standards of villagers, foster community trust, and bridge the gap
between security personnel and locals in Naxal-affected areas.
