Empowering Lives Through Service
A Beacon of Hope in the Naxal-Infested
Terrain of Bijapur
In the rugged terrains of Bijapur, one of the most conflict-prone areas in
Chhattisgarh, women have historically faced immense challenges,
especially in remote tribal areas. The constant threat of Maoist insurgency,
combined with a lack of healthcare infrastructure, often leaves the
people—particularly women—vulnerable to health crises, injuries, and Dr. Indira Pinneboyana
even death. Amidst this turmoil, I have tried to stand as a symbol of hope,
resilience, and empowerment.
As a Senior Medical Officer with the 170th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), I have been doing my
best to use my medical training to save lives in combat zones and to bring essential healthcare to the women and
children of Bijapur, a region plagued by violence and neglect.
Empowering the Women of Bijapur
My journey in the CRPF has been a testament to the power of what women
can contribute to society, especially in places where our presence is most
needed. For the women of Bijapur, particularly those living in remote,
Maoist-affected villages, I have aimed to bring healthcare that they otherwise
would never receive.
As a medical professional, I have been devoted to providing treatment and
care to the most vulnerable—women suffering from various health
complications, including complications during childbirth, gynecological
