Week Twelve:
                                 Build-a-Den

Congrats, you made it to week twelve! This week’s
activity is something completely different and some-
thing that will bring in many different skills– you
should do this with more than one kid; why not make
it a fun play date? Building a den requires dexterity,
communication to discuss with the others who are
working on the den to create something as a team,
creativity and design skills to think of something that
is appealing and practical, mathematics (to an extent)
such as to understand how certain things will hold
others and others won’t because of the weight, shape,
or size, personal, social and emotional development
because of the team work required, and much more!

To support the kids, find thick, long sticks and chal-
lenge the kids to create their own shelter the way they
would build a fort with towels, sheets and cushions.
They can lean it up against a tree or could build one in
a tipi shape, for example. It’s up to them! This is also
a great problem-solving experiment to do with them
              while being very fun.

On that note, this concludes the 12-week guide. Each
of these activities can be tweaked to be more age-ap-
propriate, but for now, you have the main ideas to get
started. Hopefully this guide has proven helpful to
              you!

              Sincerely,
