Week Nine:
Tree Crafts
This week, we are trying out something that is much
more creative. Although some of the other activities
were creative in a way, it is always fun for kids to have
the ability to use their creativity with paint and colors.
However, let’s do it the forest school way!
This activity is mainly geared towards younger kids
who like painting around and doing arts and crafts,
but any child of any age may enjoy it regardless. To
get started, simply use sheets of paper (ideally card
stock paper for a sturdier result), natural items in-
cluding leaves, twigs, tree nuts, seeds, berries, and
so on, glue (non-toxic) as well as a bag or basket to
carry around all the items. The first step is to collect
all kinds of items from nature. You should encourage
your child to find things with different colors and tex-
tures to foster more creativity. However, there are no
rules! You could choose to outline a tree with twigs for
them to fill out, but it is completely up to you.
This week’s activity mostly fosters creativity and the
arts and designs area of learning as they get used to
letting their creativity flow freely.
