Week Ten:
Does it belong in Nature?
This week’s activity is all about learning more about
what belongs in nature and what doesn’t. Over the
course of the past decades, our environments have
suffered a tremendous amount because of the way
we treat it, and the younger generations are the future.
Therefore, it’s important that they understand from a
young age what belongs to nature and what doesn’t.
This activity requires you to place certain items
which do not belong in the environment while your
child is busy doing something else. For example, you
can bring soda plastic bottles, baking soda cartons,
lids, and more and place them in that closed area.
Of course, pick them up after you are done– but that
goes without saying! Then, walk around with your
child and instruct them to pick up the articles that
they think do not belong in nature. Or, if there is a
littering problem in your area, you could also safely
make it an activity to pick it up (with the right sanitary
gear, of course).
This encourages your child’s understanding of the
world while also helping their dexterity– the physical
development learning area.
