                   The Beaches

There are fantastic beaches all along the Algarve coast as you would expect. The two
                   nearest are:

                   The Quinta do Logo beach

From Villa Vermonte you can walk along the Ria Formosa
estuary then across the footbridge to this beach – a walk that
takes about 15 -20 minutes. Directions for walking to the
beach are on a map on the desk in the lounge. Alternatively,
you can drive to the beach car park which is reached by driving
back to roundabout 6 on the main road then turning left down
to the bottom of the road. You then have to walk across the
footbridge over the lagoon to get to the beach, but it is well worth it as there is 17 miles
of soft, mostly empty sand stretching in both directions.

In the summer, May-September, there is a concession offering sunbeds and umbrellas
for hire but if you want space, and peace, walk to your left away from the crowds. Koko
also opens their beach bar. During this period, there is a water sports concession offering
parasailing, water skiing, jet skis etc. Call 289 394 929 for more details and bookings.

                   The Dunas Douradas beach

As an alternative, the beach at Dunas Douradas is reached by going out of Quinta do
Logo towards Vale do Lobo, turning left signposted Dunas Douradas, Vale do Garrao and
follow the road down, keep to the right of the Vale do Garrao turning and past the Ria
Park Hotel. There is a turning on the left about 100m on, down a track to the beach car
park which is close to the beach. There are a number of restaurants and beach
concessions here and parking is immediately adjacent to the beach.
