Newsagents

The nearest place to get a newspaper from Villa Vermonte is at the Quinta do Lago hotel
which is about 10 minutes walking distance. They also sell newspapers at the
supermarket at Vilar do Golf and there is a newsagent at Quinta Shopping.

Doctors and Dentists

The Family Medical Centre has two surgeries locally, one in Vilar do Golf, right off
roundabout 4 and one at the entrance to Vale do Lobo, behind the supermarket. Both
have English or English speaking staff.

The surgery at Vilar do Golf is open from 09.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday, Saturday
10.00 to 21.00. Call 289 398 411.

The surgery at Vale do Lobo is open 09.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday and 10.00 to 12.00
Saturday, call 289 398 009.

Hospital

The nearest hospital, Centro Hospitalar do Algarve, is in Faro. It has an accident &
emergency department. Telephone: 289 891 100

The hospital is past the airport turn off into Faro, turn left at the second roundabout after
the Algarve Forum, through a set of traffic lights and it is on the right.

Chemist

The nearest chemist is in Almancil. At the roundabout in Almancil, coming from Quinta do
Lago, turn left, the chemist is on the left about 500m up the road. You will see the big
green cross outside. Most of the staff speak some English. Opening times are 8.45 a.m-
9.p.m Mon-Fri, 8.45 a.m-8 p.m. Sat, 9 a.m-1 p.m. then 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sundays and
