Preparation for Autoclaving
٭ Ensure that the material can be autoclaved.
٭ Use appropriate containers and packaging
- Glassware should be heat-resistant borosilicate (Pyrex or Kimax), and you
should inspect it for cracks prior to autoclaving.
- Plastics should be heat resistant, for example:
➢ polycarbonate (PC)
➢ PTFE (“Teflon”)
➢ polypropylene (PP)
