Very rarely you come across such special Rotary Clubs which have a passion and dedication
MAR towards the Special Children. Must congratulate President Vipin , Secretary Unni Krishnan and the
27 entire family of Cochin International for the extra ordinary work they have being doing to help the
Special Children and this is very visible through their Flagship Project – ‘Bhavana’, a arts festival
for the specially challenged children and into its 19th year now. Another new innovative project is
‘Yoga for the Special Children’, 40 children from special schools attend these classes conducted by
the Anns and annets. A commendable program as Yoga can help even these special children. They
also provided equipments and a wheel chair to the Govt. Hospital along with a wheel chair to a
special child. Their next major focus is the Youth - They have provided a fully equipped Computer
Lab to Government High School, Thiruvankulam at a cost of about 2.5 Lakhs and contributed
40,000 to a class 12 student to develop a AI Drone. A special mention of Ann Renuka Acharya and
Nagaraja Rauhavebeen who have being regularly supplying monthly provisions worth 12500/-to
a special school Ashadeepam for the past one year. Another note worthy project is the ‘Rebuild
Kerala Project’ – building houses for the flood affected people and had the opportunity recently
to hand over their 14th house built at a cost of 5.25 Lakhs. They strongly believe in supporting the
Rotary Foundation and have planned for 50% of their members to become PHF’s this year. Must
congratulate Secretary Unni for the immaculate Secretary’s report and the lovely gift they give to
their members on their special days along with a lovely cake.
Hats off to this fabulous Club who believe in service along with good bonding among their
members !
DD Varghese Joy, AG Lakshmi Menon and GGR Dr. Rajesh Narayanan are excellent motivators and
supporters of the Club.
