ROTARY KOVAIPUDUR

President Kumar Padmanaban and Secretary Ramprabu Manicham had planned out many projects for the
MAR day and We started by planting 20 trees at CBM School and then We proceeded to inaugurate the concrete
20 bench installed at the Sundakkamuthur Govt. Hospital and also a dining table with chairs were given for the staff.
Next we visited their Vocational Training Centre and Certificates were presented to those who had completed the
training course. After a excellent Club Assembly, during the the well attended evening function Rs 30000/- was
given to help Type 1 Diabetic children – contributed by their members Nirmala Natarajan and Devadass Menon.
Education aid was given to 2 single parent children who also have a visibility problem. A really note worthy
project. To help the ladies of their Training Centre sewing machines were given to 2 ladies to help them to become
independent. When someone has done something outstanding – they should be recognized. The Vocational
Service Award was presented to Mrs Jayalakshmi, the Staff Nurse of the Govt. Hospital who during her 25 years
of service has assisted in over 65,000 surgeries. The club is lucky to have senior members like Devadass Menon,
Senthil Kumar and team who not only motivate but also support the various programs of the club.
DD Kumaresan , DD Ramananthan and GGR Baburaj Govindasamy have a special connect with the Club.

ROTARY COCHIN BEACHSIDE

The dynamic duo of President Shiyas Kuniyil and Secretary Sijo Jose along with Team Cochin Beachside have
MAR been doing wonders. They had the unique opportunity to interact with the President Arindham Choudhury of
21 the First Rotary club in India – The Rotary Club of Calcutta in a joint meet with Cochin Global and Cochin Titans.
Copartner with Cochin Global in providing a home to the needy by contributing Rs 3 lakhs. In association with
Rotary Chennai provided school essentials to the children of Kamaraj Orphanage, Chennai and also supported
in providing medical equipments to a Cancer Hospital in Adyar, Chennai. During the pandemic they have
done numerous projects and also done fabulous projects for the youth. We started the day by Inaugurating
‘Kuttikrishi’, a very innovative program to inculcate the habit and learn the value of farming and agriculture. We
then visited ‘Panaghad Pakalveedu’, another very useful project for the welfare of the society. We also visited
the site where the house is being constructed by them for a deserving family – we handed over the amount for
the same. It was indeed very nice to interact with members during the Club Assembly and evening function.
