ROTARY COIMBATORE WEST

The second most senior Club of the city with a legendary history is ably led by President Goodwin
MAR Saravana Raja and Secretary Chandarsekar with the support of senior members like Alagiri
16 Swamy, Murali, Ragunathan, Pandian, the dynamic brothers Lakshmanan and Subramaian and the
charming couple PDG Pathy and Veena. We started with something close to my heart, saving our
Lovely Planet by planting trees at the’ Rotary Adarvanam’, a Miyawaki tree plantation site. We then
visited their adopted Govt School for the Bhoomipuja of a new toilet block for the School. Some of
the outstanding projects done by them are donation of the lifesaving “Cow Lifting Machine” to the
dairy producers. Rtn Sashikumar on a visit to a dairy farm noticed that many cows after delivery did
not survive. Immediately the cowboys of Rotary West got into action and a suitable machine was
not only designed to support the cows and enable them to be back on their feet after delivery in a
few days but also manufactured and donated to a Dairy farm at Jameen Uthukuli which has saved
many cows since then. Was so impressed with this innovation that suggested them to reach out to
more dairy farmers and help them through this project and as the Cow is considered very sacred
in Hindu Culture, they will not only be doing a noble act but also saving thousands of cows by this
project. The pandemic had affected most of our programs and projects but Rtn Lakshmanan had
successfully conducted RYLA YUVA 2.0 online. Must congratulate Team Coimbatore West for their
First Global Grant Project ‘Black Pearl’ through which they have envisaged a program on Solid Waste
Management , really the need of the hour to control pollution and save our environment. I am sure
the brain behind this must be none other than PDG Pathy. Training is many times boring and dull but
our District Trainer PDG Pathy not only made it interesting, fun filled but also imparted the necessary
inputs to the participants of all our Training Sessions. He has taken the level of training to a new high !
DD Kumaresan, AG Krishna Kumar and GGR Sathish add value and strength to the Club.
