The GM will record it on individual paper or index

til the GM and players have rolled for the determined
amount of steps on the test.
When finished, the GM will total the number of
steps performed correctly and the player, depending
on the limit set by the GM, will have earned the
next belt level.
How to Purchase a Home
Homes can be purchased in a playable.
When a player finds an area they wish to reside in,
they may inquire about which homes are available.
Houses will be designated vacant by the GM in a
playable area. Baseline pricing for homes is done by
house types. There are three types of houses in Ninja
vs. Samurai RPG, and their baseline price is desig-
nated as follows:

Farm House= 500 Hansatsu
City House= 1,500 Hansatsu
Luxury Home= 2,500 Hansatsu
The Area Item Pricing rules found in the Nin-
ja vs. Samurai RPG GM Manual apply, and will af-
fect housing price, however, the price bonus or pen-
alty is added per 100 Hansatsu spent. For example, a
City House in an area with a “Low” Economic level
and “High” Resource Availability will have a 5 Han-
satsu increase per 100 Hansatsu spent making the
City House’s price rise by 75 Hansatsu to equal
1,575 Hansatsu. Consequently, these houses may be
sold at the original rate that they were purchased.
How to Build a Dojo
After a character gains five students they
need to build a dojo to maintain their student body. A
dojo is a room or hall in which martial arts are prac- another. Romantic relationships can blossom be-
ticed. Each student requires five square feet of space
to train. The baseline price for a single square foot
for a dojo is 5 Hansatsu. The cost of floor space for

five students and include five extra square feet for the
entrance of the dojo. An initial dojo floor will cost
750 Hansatsu. The Area Pricing modifier will apply
to the total price of the dojo.
This initial purchase includes: one door,
wooden walls, hardwood floors, and a roof. A player
building a dojo should create a map on a separate C
piece of plain or graph paper and designate where the h

door will be placed. The option of a window may be t
placed on an exterior wall 10 feet away from any e

door or window. Once this design is complete the
dojo is open for business. Students will stop training
with any instructor after 2 months of playing time has
passed where the dojo is or has not been opened.
Customizing or Expanding a Dojo
The created dojo can, and should be, custom-
ized. Traditionally, students train on tatami floor
mats. The cost of training mats is 20 Hansatsu per
square foot, with the Item Pricing Chart once again
playing a part in the modification of this price. Art-
work can also be purchased to upgrade a dojo’s space
and generate more acclaim.
Expanding a dojo requires tearing down a
wall, and adding more floor space. When a wall is
torn down it is not a complete loss. The owner is
awarded half of what it cost to raise the sections that
are to be torn down. For example, it has been desired
to add enough space for two more students which is
two 5x5 sq. ft. (or 10’x5’). The original space, which
costs 250 Hansatsu to build, is divided and given to
the owner, 125 Hansatsu. The addition is then able to
be purchased and add to the building after the cost of
the additional (which will only cost 125 Hansatsu)
space is bought. The option of windows and doors is
also to be explored, and the player’s map of the dojo
should be adjusted as necessary.
