Antigen presenting cells
A type of immune cell that is able to present evidence of threats (abnormal
molecules from unhealthy or infected cells) to T cells
Cells such as B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells that can present exogenous
antigens to naive or memory T cells, activating them.
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC)
• A protein complex on the surface of cells that work to present antigen to T cells
to discriminate between self (our cells and tissues) and nonself
• There are two different types of MHC
MHC-I MHC-II
