Love on the Courts

A special Valentines wish to the Brinkmans, Darrel
and Letha. Darrel shuffled for 33 years with his first
wife and was widowed after 50 years of marriage.
Letha and her first husband shuffled together 28 years
during their 53 years of marriage. After their spouses
had died, a shuffler-friend asked Letha if she would
consider partnering with Darrel in tournaments.
Letha said, “Yes.” She said yes again to Darrel when
he asked her on a date. It was heartwarming to watch
their courtship whether they were shuffling or
strolling hand in hand on the Llano Grande Resort
streets. They were wed on April 4th, 2004.
Love bloomed for Shelia and Ed Mills beginning in
December, 2016. They met at a dance at Tip O’ Texas
R.V. Park. Ed introduced Shelia to Llano Grande and
she started as a work camper at the golf course. They
began dating in January 2017, dancing and strolling
hand in hand. Then they became shuffling partners in
February. Shuffling was a totally new game for Shelia
who is now a trophy winner. Ed proposed to her in
April. Not long after they met and were accepted by
each other’s families, they got married on June 24th,
2017. Their summer home is in Iowa.
