Canon David Brown makes this state ment:
God is in fact out side time, so there’s no “be fore” for God. He’s present with
each bit of our tem po ral sto ry... 139
Allah sees and knows ev ery cir cum stance of ev ery en ti ty. It is
He Who cre ates them all. Every me ter a per son trav els, the im a ges
he en coun ters and the time to which he is sub ject are all known to
and con trolled by Allah. In one verse, He in forms us that:
You do not en gage in any mat ter or re cite any of the Qur’an or do any ac -
tion with out Our wit ness ing you while you are oc cu pied with it. Not even
the small est speck eludes your Lord, ei ther on Earth or in heav en. Nor is
there any thing small er than that, or larg er, which is not in a Clear Book. (Surah Yunus, 61)
Space, like time, is also a perception
In pro pos ing his the o ry, Einstein re gard ed the speed of light as a uni ver sal con stant. No mat ter how
fast you may go, the speed of light al ways re mains con stant. Even if you trav el at a speed ap proach ing
99% of that of light, light will still trav el at 186,282 miles (299,791 kil o me ters) per sec ond. It is im pos si -
ble to match that speed. According to Einstein’s cal cu la tions, time de cel er ates as the speed of the ob -
serv er in creas es, and space com press es ac cord ing to the di rec tion of trav el. These con cepts, which chan-
ge ac cord ing to the speed of light, prove that they are not ab so lute be cause they var y de pend ing on the
in di vid u al.
Peter Russell de scribes:
. . . however fast you are mov ing you will al ways meas ure the speed of light to be 186.282 miles per sec -
ond—just as Michelson and Morley had found. Even if you were to trav el at 186,281 miles per sec ond, light
would not pass by a mere 1 mile per sec ond fast er; it would still zoom by at 186,282 miles per sec ond. You
would not have caught up with light by even the ti ni est amount.
