In oth er vers es of the Qur’an, it is re vealed that time pass es at dif fer ent speeds in dif fer ent di men -

                     sions. For ex am ple, it is stat ed that one day in the Sight of Allah is equal to one thou sand hu man years.
                     (Qur’an, 22:47)

                          Other vers es on this sub ject read as fol lows:
                          The an gels and the Spirit as cend to Him in a day whose length is fif ty thou sand years. (Surat al-Ma‘ar ij, 4)

                          He di rects the whole af fair from heav en to Earth. Then it will again as cend to Him on a Day whose length is

                          a thou sand years by the way you meas ure. (Qur’an, 32:5)
                          The Companions of the Cave, a group of be liev ers to whom Allah refers in the Qur’an, were kept in

                     a pro found slum ber for around 300 years. When He lat er woke them, these peo ple thought that a very
                     short pe ri od of time had elapsed, and were un a ble to es ti mate for how long they had slept:

                          So We sealed their ears with sleep in the cave for a num ber of years. Then We woke them up again so that
                          we might see which of the two groups would bet ter cal cu late the time they had stayed there. (Qur’an, 18:11-
