The Miracles of our Prophet (saas)

the Meccans fi nal ly reached the cav e's mouth, they saw a spi -
der's web at its en trance and that pi geons had made their nests
and laid eggs there. So, think ing that no one was in side, they
be gan to look else where. Indeed, when we think of it, such an
un dis turbed spi der's web could have been tak en as a sign that
no one was in side, for any one en ter ing it would have bro ken
the web. The same is true with the pi geons. Certainly this was

a mir a cle of Allah, the all-pow er ful rul er of all things, Who
caused the spi der to weave its web and placed the pi geons at
the cav e's en trance. Nothing hap pened to our Prophet (saas) or
                 Abu Bakr (ra).
Another mir a cle is how Allah sup port ed him with in vis i -
ble ar mies and gave him a sense of in ner se cu ri ty and well-be -
ing. According to the com men ta ries, the ar mies put un der the

com mand of the Prophet Muhammad (saas) con sist ed of an -
gels. Indeed on the last part of Surat at-Tawba it is stat ed:
"Then Allah sent down His se ren i ty up on him and re in forced
him with troops you could not see. He made the word of the
un be liev ers' un der most. It is the word of Allah that is up per -
most. Allah is mighty and all-wise." In the Tafsir of Jalalayn,
this mir a cle is in ter pret ed as fol lows:
Allah says "if you do not help him," that is, it does not mat ter if you
did not help Prophet Muhammad (saas), for Allah helped him, just
as he helped him when "the un be liev ers drove him out, the sec ond
of two." This re fers to the year when the pol y the ists in tend ed to kill
the Prophet (saas), so he es caped from them, along with his
Companion Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (ra). They con cealed them selves in
the cave of Thawr for three nights, with the en e my prowl ing around
in great num bers, fruit less ly search ind for them. This was when
