Our Prophet's (saas)

Throughout his life, our Prophet
(saas) called rul ers and ad min is tra tors to
Islam by send ing mes sen gers and let ters to
them. Historical sour ces tell us that some of
them heed ed the call im me di ate ly and that oth -
ers re fused to do so and al lied them selves with

his en e mies. Our Prophet (saas) in vit ed Perviz
ibn Hurmuz, the kis ra at that time, by send ing
Abdullah ibn Hudhayfah to him as a mes sen ger.
But Ibn Hurmuz re fused to em brace Islam and, in
fact, dis played hos til i ty to ward the Muslims. He even
went so far as to send two mes sen gers to tell the Muslims
to sub mit to him.
Our Prophet (saas) first in vit ed these two mes sen gers to
ac cept Islam. Then he left them, say ing that he would in form

them of his de ci sion the next day. 71 At that time, he told the
mes sen gers what Allah had re vealed to him: "Allah will send
many trib u la tions to Khosrow by means of his son Shireveyh,
who will kill him in such-and-such a month, on such-and-such
a night, at such-and-such an hour." 72 He al so told them: "Tell
Khosrow that my re li gion and my em pire will reach far be yond
his king dom. And tell him: "Enter Islam, and I will con firm you

in what you have and ap point you king over the peo ple of
Yemen." 73
The am bas sa dors then re turned to Yemen and de scribed
what had hap pened. Badhan was im pressed and said:
