27. The loss of hope of the coming of
Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh):

Allah Almighty will send Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) after despair has
reached the point that people will say: "There is no Mahdi." (Narrat-
ed by Nu'aym ibn Hammad)

The above hadith reveals that another of the portents of the End
Times is people's increasing abandonment of belief in Hazrat Mahdi's
(pbuh) coming. This state of mind can frequently be observed in the pre-
sent day. Despite the existence of countless hadiths about Hazrat Mahdi's
(pbuh) coming, the Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) return, and the Golden Age
characterized by great blessings, many people doubt that such a period
will ever come. This assumption is also a sign of the End Times. In a time
of despair, people will enjoy the benefits of the prevailing Qur'anic moral-
ity, thanks to Allah's mercy.
