Lochearnhead to Glasgow or Stirling

There are all sorts of touring options for you onward journey from here:
Putting it as simply as possible, you can either go down the east side of the Loch Lomond and
Trossachs National Park, or down the west side. Seems to make some sort of sense, yeah?
Either way you can take in Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city, or give it a miss and head straight
through to Burns Country – Ayrshire – or go even further south to the Lake District.
1: The direct way. This touring route, Route 3 on the eastern side, will take you south from
Lochearnhead through the Strathyre region.
Along the way you can choose to take a side trip to Loch Katrine.
You can then either head straight for Glasgow, or take a diversion to Balloch on Loch
Lomond then either go directly to Ayr, or directly to Keswick, or head into Glasgow.
For navigation notes on this option click here . . .
2: Through the Trossachs National Park. Route 4 – go a bit further west and turn south to
follow the western shores of Loch Lomond through the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National
Park. 73 miles, 1 hr 40 min. That’s my recommendation.
In so doing, again there are options. You can take a side trip to Loch Lomond, then either go
directly to Ayr, or directly to Keswick, or head into Glasgow.
