XINGHANA COMMUNITY LODGE
RESULTS
KPI 1 | INVESTMENT FUNDING
Funding was secured from the Karingani Founders. The projected capital cost of the project is approximately $1.2
million.
The lodge is programmed for completion in June 2021, construction delayed by the pandemic. Limited construction
was maintained due to the pandemic’s impact on Karingani and subsequent lockdown.
KPI 2 | COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
Commemorating the friendship between Karingani and Cubo Community, the lodge is to be named Xinghana -
meaning ‘friendship’ in Shangaan.
KPI 3 | SELF-OPERATION AND SKILLS TRANSFER
Karingani has been given the authority from the Cubo Council to appoint the management team for the lodge who
will also be given the responsibility for managing Sungulo Lodge. The proposed staff will comprise of the following
individuals:
• 1 x Lodge Manager • 2 x Drivers
• 1 x Barman • 1 x Maintenance
• 1 x Head Chef • 3 x Guards
• 1 x Assistant Chef • 1 x Staff Canteen Cook
• 7 x Cleaners • 1 x Lodge Supervisor, employed as a stand in on a
rotation basis
The intent is to recruit this team within Mozambique.
A pre-opening plan is being prepared and will be drafted and coordinated with the to be hired lodge manager.
