UEFA Women’s Champions League
Six first half goals saw Chelsea on their way to a commanding
7-0 victory away to Servette FCCF and to top spot in Group A.
Melanie Leupolz opened the scoring after eight minutes
and Chelsea ran riot from that point with Fran Kirby and Sam
Kerr both netting twice and Jessie Fleming also getting on the
scoresheet. Guro Reiten further increased their lead five minutes
after the restart and although they did not add any more goals,
their best moment of the night came late on when Maren Mjelde made a late appearance as a
substitute after eight months out with a knee injury.
A good night for Chelsea was made even better with the news that the other match in the
group between Juventus and VfL Wolfsburg had finished in a 2-2 draw.
In Group C, Arsenal strengthened
